All About Me
So I figure since this is a blog, there may as well be some “bloggy” content. Here’s 100 things you may or may not have known about me.
- I didn’t have a middle name till I got married.
- I only have one sibling, a sister, who is younger than me.
- My sister’s birthday is one week before Valentine’s Day. My sister-in-law’s birthday is one week after.
- I’m older than my husband by 10 months.
- My husband and I were engaged for 5 years before we got married.
- I went to school with one of the guys from *NSync.
- I wore braces for 3 years in high school. Had them removed right before graduation.
- I didn’t get my driver’s license till I was 17. No particular reason either.
- I been a fan of Tweety Bird for such a long time that my daughter’s room is decorated in Baby Looney Tunes.
- I was a major fan of New Kids on the Block in high school.
- I am hispanic and speak Spanish with relatives.
- I had LASIK surgery in January 2005.
- I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in February 2002.
- I went to Catholic school for grades 1-5.
- My grandmother, mother, myself and my sister all have first names that start with the letter ‘A’. That’s the main reason I named my daughter Amelia.
- I got married 3 days after Valentine’s day.
- My c-section was my first and only major surgery.
- I graduated with a bachelor degree in Environmental Science.
- I became a Mac user in October 2004.
- I’ve lived in Panama.
- I honeymooned in Sedona, Arizona.
- I knit, crochet, quilt, cross-stitch and scrapbook.
- I was born in Bethesda, Maryland at the naval hospital.
- I was born 5 weeks early.
- I weighed 3lbs 7oz at birth.
- I suffered from mild depression my junior year of college.
- I love coffee.
- I’ve never donated blood.
- I was in the colorguard my sophomore year of college.
- I worked at Blockbuster Video my senior year of high school.
- I’ve also worked at an auto parts store (see #41).
- I’m an avid reader. My favorite author is Danielle Steel.
- We have 3 fish tanks, a 55gal, a 44gal and a 1gal.
- I have two dogs…Sadie (cocker spaniel/miniature husky) and Dakota (german/aussie shepard).
- I’ve never had a broken bone.
- All the web design skills I have, I learned on my own.
- I’m a computer programmer.
- I’ve been programming in Visual Basic since 2000.
- I love my job.
- I also am designing and developing a database in SQL Server 2005.
- I worked at Advance Auto Parts in college.
- I’ve only ever skipped out on work without calling in one time.
- I got engaged the day after Christmas in 1996, but kept it a secret until the following month when DH finally got the nerve to “ask” my dad.
- We broke up several times during our 4.5 year engagement.
- I almost went to the University of Texas at Austin for a Master’s in Library Science. But I couldn’t afford it.
- Johnny Damon went to my high school. He graduated a year ahead of me.
- I do my scrapbooking digitally with Adobe Photoshop.
- I started wearing glasses in 3rd grade.
- My best friend in high school drove a cadillac to school.
- My favorite movie of all time is Annie.
- I once coveted a laptop so badly, I would cry.
- I have an iPod and use it mainly to listen to podcasts.
- It still sometimes can’t believe I have a daughter.
- I found out I was pregnant a week before our 5 year anniversary.
- My daughter celebrated 4 months old on our 6 year anniversary.
- Even though I was engaged for so long, it still felt weird to call my DH my fiance.
- On the 10 year anniversary of our engagement, my DH upgraded my engagement ring from a 1/5 ct round diamond to a 1ct heart-shaped diamond.
- I quit wearing my rings when I was about 5 months pregnant and even after I delivered and got back down to pre-pregnancy size I had to get my rings sized up because they didn’t fit right.
- I was a geek in high school and graduated with the Math Honor Society and the Beta Club.
- I was named after a little town in Spain, but have never been to Europe.
- I’ve seen 5 Cirque du Soleil shows: Allegria, La Neuba, Quidam, Vareki, and Dralion.
- I’ve been working on my first quilt since 2005. I’ve barely made any progress on it.
- As of today (Sept 24, 2007), I still have yet to complete my first knitted sweater and I’ve been knitting since 2004.
- I taught my sister how to knit.
- I don’t like scary movies and the only one I would watch when I was little was Poltergeist).
- I almost flew out of a roller coaster when I was 5 years old.
- Now I love roller coasters!
- I don’t like onions or peanut butter.
- My daughter has her own iPod (I gave her my old one when I got a Nano).
- I didn’t get my first tooth til I was 14 months old.
- My daughter got her first tooth at 14 months old.
- I love doing jigsaw puzzles and have done a photomosaic puzzle and a 3-D puzzle.
- I love trivia games.
- I’m learning to weave in 2008 on a rigid heddle loom.
- I also learned to loom knit in 2008.
- We hope to move to Florida by 2011, so that my daughter doesn’t have to go to school in Alabama.
- I love Edie’s real strawberry ice cream.
- I can’t roll my tongue.
- I’ve blogged with Movable Type, Blogger, Wordpress and Textpattern.
- I learned visual basic on my own.
- When I was six, I was obsessed with Strawberry Shortcake.
- Once upon a time, my mom promised to get me all the My Little Pony ponies; until they started coming out with hundreds of them.
- I have extremely high cholesterol and have to control it with medication.
- I used to have a crush on Kirk Cameron.
- I didn’t grow up near any of my relatives.
- We used to have flying squirrels as pets.
- I do not have any tattoos.
- I have 3 ear piercings, but only wear earrings in the first ones.
- I do not like beans.
- I have dual citizenship (US and Dominican Republic), because my dad is Dominican and I am granted citizenship by default at birth.
- I am right handed.
- I collect coffee mugs.
- I used to record all 3 NBC soap operas (Days of Our Lives, Another World & Santa Barbara) when I was in high school and watch them after school.
- I’ve never seen Nightmare on Elm Street.
- I weighed 85lbs when I graduated high school.
