Using each letter in your name as the beginning of the sentence or phrase, write sentences or phrases that describe you.
As you can guess most of these relate to being a new mom,
as does practically everything in my life now.
R eally loving being a mom
A melia’s mommy
Y earning for more hours in the day to get everything done
N eeding more sleep
E njoying the Manic Mommies podcast
OK, I could probably do better at this but I’m really tired today. I slept better than last night, but it just wasn’t enough, as always.

I decided to upgrade my iPod. But it’s sort of a downgrade also. I currently have a 15GB 3G iPod and I just ordered a 4gb Nano (Product) Red. So it’s an upgrade to a newer iPod, but downgrade in disk space. But that’s okay. I’m looking forward to some features in the new one that I don’t have in my current 3G.
For one, I think I’m really going to enjoy the longer battery life. My current iPod will play for 8 hours. The Nano should play for 24 hours. Right now, I can charge up and listen to music all day at work, but that kills the battery and I don’t have enough juice to listen on the way to and from work. Yes, I have a car charger, but it makes a horrible hissing noise if I try to charge it while I’m listening to it. Don’t know if that’s just the nature of it, or my archaic device. LOL!
I’m going to enjoy the color screen. I’m sure it will be easier to see the screen while driving, so it will be less distracting. I won’t have to spend as much time trying to see what I’m doing when I should be watching the road.
The size is so small! My husband just got one last night and it’s so tiny. I love that it is about 1/2 the size of my 3G. Granted it isn’t the classic Apple white, which I’m disappointed about. I would have preferred one in the trademark white, but since it isn’t available, I chose to go Red.
Also, my current iPod doesn’t keep the location of my podcasts like it does with Audiobooks. Apparently it doesn’t support that. So that will be a great feature to have since my podcasts are about 45 minutes long and I don’t normally have time to sit and listen to a whole episode at one time. But it’s too distracting to listen to at work, so I’d like to switch over to music then jump back into my podcast on the drive home.
It will be interesting trying to weed out my library so I can fit podcasts, audiobooks and music on 4GB, since I’m so used to 15GB. My entire library fits on my 15GB. But I think I’ve got 2GB of unplayed podcasts to sync. I may have to do one podcast at a time, till I get caught up to current episodes.
Anyway, now I sit waiting for my new little piece of technology to be shipped, and to hurry up and get here so I can start playing.

The exersaucer we ordered for Amelia arrived late this evening. UPS delivered it around 7pm and the box was mangled and partly torn open! It was missing only one piece but it is a piece that makes up the leg. The thing functions fine, but one leg is open instead of closed in. It was sort of a pain to put together and it’s not easy to fold down, although I didn’t even know it folded down. I have to go out tomorrow and get batteries cause we don’t have enough. It takes 6 AAA and I could only muster up 2. But that doesn’t matter since it was assembled after Amelia had already fallen asleep. But I think she might like it. Of course, according to the box, she can only grow 4 more inches before she gets too tall for the thing. We’ll see. Maybe she’ll stall in height growth. She’s 4 months old and 26 inches tall!
So that brings up another question…if my child’s carseat says up to 22 lbs and 29 inches tall, then if she’s still only like 16-17lbs but she’s 30 inches long and not yet one year old, what do you do? I guess I’ll be buying a new one when she gets too tall for the one she currently uses, even though she’ll still be within the weight limit.

The other night I lay Amelia in her crib with her head at one end. The few times I checked on her I noticed that she was laying almost sideways. Well, when my husband went in the next morning to get her up, she was laying with her head at the other end of the crib. She aparently managed to turn herself around during the night. I guess she’s starting to move, even though she hasn’t yet rolled over.
Then last night, one of the times I checked on Amelia, she was twisted up so much I thought for sure she would roll over. Her upper body was turned over to her side and she kept turning it further. She just hasn’t quite figured out that she has to bring her legs over too. But I guess this prompted me to dream about it. I dreamt that she discovered how to roll over and decided that was how she was doing to get around, so she was literally rolling around floor from room to room. LOL! I think about it now and it’s so hilarious.
Her exercauser should get here today. When I checked the tracking last night it had arrived at the local UPS so it should go out for delivery today, if the weather doesn’t prevent the UPS driver from getting to my house. So I guess I’m looking forward to seeing how she likes it. And again I had a dream about it. In my dream she loved it so much, she was using it as a walker and got moving so fast, she almost flew out of it. Like that could happen, but it was so funny.
So anyway, I’ve not been a big fan of podcasts since they aren’t regulated, any john doe amateur can create a podcast and you can’t really trust the quality of the content. But the other day I stumbled onto a fabulous podcast that I instantly become a huge fan of. Which one you ask? The Manic Mommies. They are two working moms trying to manage it all. It’s so great since I too am a working mom. As soon as I got home that day, I guess it was Tuesday, I immediately went straight to my computer and subscribed. Then proceeded to download every episode available in iTunes and synced my iPod. LOL! But it’s so uplifting to hear them talk about their kids. I feel like I’ve made instant friends, yet they have no idea that I even exist. They are clean so I can be sure the content is safe to listen to when I’m in the car with Amelia or listening at work, although at work I use my headphones.
