Time to Finish the UnFinished

by Rayne on January 17th, 2007

After reading a few blogs talking about unfinished knitting projects, I think it’s time to evaluate my stash of unfinished projects and form a plan of action. Let’s see if I can even remember what’s on my plate…

  1. Chamomile – the sweater that’s taking years to finish. I started this back in 2004 when I started knitting. Then got pregnant at the beginning of 2006 and decided that it wouldn’t fit anyway so why bother working on it. Now that I’m looking it over, I realize that it’s too big. My gauge has changed in the 3 years that I’ve been knitting, so I’ll have to frog it and start over. But I still like the sweater and the pattern, so maybe someday it will actually get finished.
  2. Socks – My first ever pair of socks still has a way to go. I’ve got the first sock done. The second sock is well on its way to being finished…I’ve made it past the heel and am working on the foot. Need to get this finished.
  3. Homespum afghan – This one was crocheted, but horribly so. I should have figured out how many rows and stitches it would take to create an 8×8 inch square and followed that for all the squares rather than measuring. But they are all done. They’ve just been sitting in a drawer waiting for me to seam them together. It think it will be a really nice afghan when I’m done though.
  4. Gingham afghan – another crochet afghan made up of approx. 317 granny squares. This one doesn’t really have a deadline. This project is my fun project, the one that I pick up and do a few squares when I feel like playing with my crochet hooks. So I am really in no hurry to finish.
