I think I’m starting to feel the baby move. It’s very faint and hardly ever, but I do feel something. Like little muscle twitches or flutters in my belly. It’s weird, because they only last a second and if I’m not paying attention I’ll miss it. I felt it about a week ago, then again last night I felt it twice.
And last night I went to the bathroom and as I was walking back out I felt so much pressure on my bladder. So I put my hands on my belly and felt a hard little lump in my abdomen. I held my hands there while I walked to the other room to get Eric to feel. The little lump jiggled as I walked. He felt the baby too and kissed my belly. Then I walked back to the bedroom. By the time I walked back the baby had moved and there was no little lump anymore. It was really cool feeling.

I found this little cross-stitch project at Michael’s today. I hope to get started tonight and plan on doing all I can minus stats. Then I’m counting on mom to fill in the blanks after the baby comes when I won’t have time to finish it.

I got my very first ever Mother’s Day present last night from my husband. He got me a new bedding set for our bedroom. I’ve been wanting new sheets, because we only have one set that fits that mattress (since it’s thick). Well, he got the whole set: comforter, sheets, pillow cases, shams and skirt. And when I got home from work, he had made the bed up all pretty with the new bedding. It is so pretty, I love it…Earth tones, my favorite and it matches our room furniture and decor.
It was so weird him telling me Happy Mother’s Day and getting a gift. LOL! But pretty cool at the same time. It was neat.
I’m actually surprised I haven’t gotten any cards yet. I figured my sister (she’s so cheesy, like that) would have sent me one for a mommy-to-be. She keeps saying how she can’t wait to find out what I’m having…she’s saving her pennies, so she can go shopping for baby stuff. LOL! She’s definitely one proud auntie.

My appt went really well on Thursday. But my little munchkin wasn’t cooperating. I guess he/she wasn’t in the mood to be bothered. Baby was laying right in my middle, near my main artery that goes down my belly. So we could barely hear the heartbeat. It was very faint underneath my really loud one. Everytime the doc found it and we think we got a lock on it, the baby would move away!
I told my husband the baby was being stubborn just like daddy. But everything is going well. I’m measuring right on schedule for 15 weeks. Which is great.
My next appt is on June 1 and if baby cooperates, we’ll be able to find out the gender. I’m so excited. I can’t wait to see the baby again. And actually see a baby instead of a little blob. Between that and hopefully starting to feel the baby soon, maybe it will truly sink in that I’m really pregnant and will be having a baby in 6 months. The doc said we could bring a video tape and they will record the u/s session. That will be awesome. My parents and sister are coming up the next day and I’m looking forward to showing them the video, even if baby gets stubborn again and doesn’t let us know boy or girl. I haven’t seen my sister since Thanksgiving, obviously way before I got pregnant and I might not see her again before the baby arrives, so it will be great to see her again.
I keep talking to the baby telling him/her to behave on that day so that we can find out and start calling him/her by name. We have names picked out, but we’re keeping them to ourselves till we know the gender, then we’ll share with everyone what we’re having and what the baby’s name is.
So that’s the update on my appt. Less than 4 weeks and we get the BIG u/s. I just can’t wait, we’re both so excited.
UPDATE: Too many spam comments so I had to turn off comments for this post. Sorry.
