2nd trimester begins!
Friday, April 21st, 2006I’ve begun my 2nd trimester. Yeah! It’s been a worrisome and somewhat stressful 13 weeks, praying that my little one stays put and continues to grow. Even now, it’s still somewhat hard to grasp. I don’t feel anything yet, I’m not as sick, my energy is very slowly coming back. Everyone keeps asking me how the baby is doing. Well, I can only guess that everything is fine. I haven’t heard the heartbeat since the ultrasound 6 weeks ago. I haven’t had any unusual pains, so I’m assuming that everything is fine. So far it seems to be going well. Which I’m ever grateful for. My next appt is in two weeks and we’ll finally start hearing the heartbeat with the doppler. And I’m hoping that we’ll be able schedule our u/s.
We’ve picked out names but are keeping them to ourselves until we find out the gender. Then we’ll tell everyone if it’s a boy or girl and tell them what his/her name is.
I do think that now that I’m in the 2nd trimester, things will start going a little quicker. It seems like it took me forever to get to this point. I added a picture of my belly to my flickr account. The link is in the sidebar. The picture was taken at 11 weeks. You can definitely tell I’m pregnant when I wear certain clothes, especially maternity shirts. Which, I need to get more of. Most of my regular shirts are getting to short to cover my belly enough and even my good ol t-shirts are getting snug around the belly. 
I don’t have enough pants to make it through the work week, so I need to get one or two more. And I need another one or two pairs of shorts. The ones I currently have are still a little big, but I got them anyway, since I knew I’d grow into them.
And I need to get a swimsuit of some sort to wear. I’m sure we’ll be spending plenty of weekends at DH’s cousin’s lakehouse, so I want to be able to go swimming. I’m thinking a bikini with a shirt over it. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to show my belly off, but a two-piece is much easier to deal with and probably less constricting.
Anyway. not much else going on. We haven’t made too much progress with the nursery. It’s still a mess and there’s a lot of junk still in there that we need to clean out.
