Well, I did it. I changed the layout. And it was fairly easy…just updated the stylesheet and tweaked the HTML just a little to accomodate the new style. For the most part the HTML is the same though. I love when it goes so easy like that. So here is the new, colorful layout.
Because of my somewhat lack of interest in updating the site design, it will be a while before I change it again. Get used to this. LOL!
In other news, I finished the neckwarmer and will be giving it to the recipient tonight. I did take pictures so I’ll post them tonight if I get a chance.

Well, I was going to let comments go unmoderated, but within a day of opening them up, I got two spam comments. So back to moderation they go. Sorry! It’s just easier to approve good comments, then have to delete bad ones after they may have already been seen by someone.

I’ll be going to San Francisco January 28 – Feb 3 for a developer’s conference on Visual Studio.NET 2005. I’m looking forward to it…it will be my first time every in California. I hope to have some time to take a bunch of photos and maybe see if there is a knitting shop nearby where I’ll be staying that I can stop in to browse. I’m also planning on meeting up with a friend for dinner.

I dug out some old archives from way back when and added them in, so now I’ve got most of my entries going back to when I started blogging in March 2002. Wow! Almost 4 years ago!
I felt like having a big archive. Don’t ask why, I just got nostalgic, I guess. I’m sure I’ve probably lost a few along the way, considering this site has been through several hosts, domains, and blogging managers, but I really was surprised at how many of my old entries still existed. I think from now on, I won’t remove any posts. That way I can read back another 4-5 years from now and see what was going on back then. 
I’ve been contemplating changing the site again just to get my interest back, but the idea of changing and having to mess with everything is just a little too overwhelming. I’m not so into the whole web design thing anymore…I just want a pretty, functional site where I can share my thoughts and daily happenings on. So this site will probably stay mostly as is. A few tweaks here and there maybe just to make things a little more “user-friendly”, and fun.
Update:
OK, so I’ve been going over some old entries and realized that the dates didn’t get converted correctly on the comments. Not sure what happened, but the import script in TXP didn’t like the MT import date format or something. So I guess I’ll have to figure out what happened there.
So what’s this site going to contain? I’m not going to separate out knitting/crochet stuff from regular journal stuff. I’m using categories to separate the entries, that’s the extent of my separation. I’m going to keep the external sites for my scrapbooking and knitting galleries. It’s easier than trying to maintain my own gallery.
I want to redo my archives, but I’m not sure how. I like having them all listed by category so that knitters can easily see all my knitting entries in one place. So those will probably stay the same. Ok, this is all just brainstorming, so don’t hold me to any of this.

Well, I’m going to try to start posting here more. I’d sort of put the site on hiatus, but now I’m feeling more and more like blogging again.

He’s got some sort of stomach bug. He’s eating crackers and toast and hoping that stays in his system. Me, I’m just battling a slight sore throat that is going away and a stuffy nose. I guess it’s just going around.
Yesterday was the first time in the 5 years I’ve worked for this agency that I had to work late. Our primary network server crashed so we were there an extra 4 hours working on reconfiguring the other servers to get us back up and running. All is good now. But it took 2 whole days of work. For our little agency of less than 30 people, that’s a lot of time.
It was a pain, but it was somewhat of a learning experience for me as I’d never dealt with something like that before.
