Back Again

Friday, July 29th, 2005

Ok, so I’m back now with a slightly redesigned site. I’ve combined my knitting and regular journal entries into one section, just separated by category. My knitting projects and scrapbook pages are being stored off site, so the links to those will open in new windows. It’s easier to manage them that way than to try to keep up with it here. The link to “about me” isn’t working yet, so be patient. Hopefully that will be up shortly.

I’ve had my Mac for over a year now…my DH bought it for my birthday in June 2004, but I actually switched to it in October 2004. In honor of the one year mark, I finally took the apple sticker that came with my computer and put it on my car. Now I have a VW Jetta sporting an apple logo. How cool is that?!

Way Behind

Tuesday, July 19th, 2005

Well, I’m way behind on anything related to this site. I haven’t knit since I last posted in May. I haven’t really had anything to say here either.

What’s been going on? I turned 30 years old in June.

We weathered Hurricane Dennis…which was headed in our direction but barely breezed by. I think we got a little wind and lots of rain. We’re also getting ready for 2 weddings, one in August and one in September. And a friend of ours passed away several weeks ago; that was a huge shock to all of us.

But in the midst of my all that, I’ve discovered Digital Scrapbooking. Much my forte than knitting or any other “hand” craft. As much as I like knitting, I don’t feel like it’s my niche. The digital scrapbooking on the other hand just fits me perfectly. It totally allows me to be a computer geek to the max. LOL!

My SIL gifted me a copy of Photoshop CS for my birthday, so I’ve been scrapping like mad. It’s loads of fun. Just think of how many more layouts I’ll be able to make once I have a child!! But what does that mean for this blog/website?

Well, I’ve been tossing some ideas around in my head about combining my knitting and regular blogs into one journal, sort of starting from scratch for regular thoughts I want to share (on knitting and anything else) and just having 2 galleries to display my knitted items and my scrapbook pages, which incidentally includes my knitted items. I’ve started to make an album of all my knit projects.

Of course, since I’ve no desire to work on this website at the moment, I’ve not even gone beyond the thought of it in my head. Maybe one of these days I’ll get the motivation to fix up this site and get it how I like. Till then, it will just be an abandoned little blip on the internet radar.

I still do feel horribly guilty that I haven’t completed anything. I still have most of the back of mom’s sweater to complete, as well as Chamomile that was started over a year ago, but I’m almost done with the front panel. I think I have a total of 5-6 unfinished projects that are begging to be done and out of the way. I think I would feel infinitely better if I could get some of them completed. I’d definitely not feel so guilty about not knitting.
