A New Do

Written on May 24, 2004 – 1:29 pm

Saturday, I went and got pampered. I got my nails done. Actually I had the acrylic stuff removed. I was getting tired of it and was ready to go back to my real nails. I also went and got my hair done. Not a drastic hair cut, but a drastic change nonetheless. I got my hair straightened. Yes, it’s board straight now. I like it so far, but I haven’t washed it yet. Can’t wash it for 2 days after (like a perm) so I can’t wash it till tonight. That will be the real test.

For some reason, when I get my hair straightened, it looks great for the few days after then it all goes downhill as soon as I wash it. So I’m hoping this time it will hold, since I had it done at the salon instead of doing it myself with the $3.95 Wal-Mart kit. LOL! My husband was worried I was going to come home with no hair…that it would be so short. I told him there was no way I’d cut my hair. I love it long, but I was tired of it looking so gross and frizzy.

In other weekend news, I watched three movies yesterday. Yes, I was a couch potato, but I actually got some house cleaning done too and I’m almost finished with the laundry. I watched Win a Date with Tad Hamilton, Le Divorce, and Bend it Like Beckham. I was disappointed with Tad Hamilton. I was hoping that Rosie would change Tad for the better, but in the end, he was the same guy. Le Divorce was good. But it had Kate Hudson, so of course it was good. She’s just too cute! Bend It was pretty good. I didn’t catch the beginning so I was slightly confused as to who Beckham was at first, but it turned out to be a great movie.

I didn’t get much knitting done this weekend like I had planned to. I spent most of Saturday out. After I got my nails and hair done, we went out to eat and went drinking with friends. Got home and went to bed. Sunday, I watched all those movies and cleaned house while the hubby was out playing disc golf. Finally, around 5 I was able to sit down and do a little knitting. But I had a pretty good weekend.

Next weekend my parents are in town and my DH leaves for his canoe trip. I’m still deciding if I want to go to Jubilee and see Keith Urban. He doesn’t hit the stage till 10:15pm, and I don’t know if I want to go out anyway with my parents visiting. I may try to convince my sister to go with me. Who knows. I’d love to see Keith Urban though.
