Prayers for Dad
I have to talk somewhere and this is as good a place as any. My dad has gone into the hospital. He has been having dizzy spells and two nights ago had a really bad one. Mom took him to the hospital and they have been running tests. His EKG came back normal, but his pulse is extremely low. They are giving him meds, fluids and oxygen to try and get his pulse up. The cardiologist is also running a bunch of tests to find out why his pulse is low. They are trying to determine if he had a very mild heart attack or something else.
I’m very worried and it’s worse because I’m not there. The bad episode happened while they are on a trip to Florida. They took some stuff down to put in storage down there as they get ready for his retirement in June and their move shortly thereafter from Texas.
Depending on what they cardiologist says after this batch of tests they are doing this afternoon, I may go down to be with them, but I’m just waiting right now. I feel helpless, afraid. I want to be with my daddy. I’m going to wait and see what happens first, see how long they want to keep him. But it’s scary and frustrating…this waiting game. Especially from 9 hours away.
Please do not do as I have… leave what you are doing and go to him. If all is well tomorrow, so much the better for the time you will spend with him. Do not spend the rest of your life wishing you had.
