Husband Rant

Written on April 6, 2003 – 9:53 am

I wish my husband would get the concept of spending wisely on all matters. Stuff that is needed he scimps on. Stuff that he just wants for the sake of having it…he will go crazy for. Last night, we went shopping. He’s been needing a pair of shoes for a while, but hasn’t bought any because when he goes to look, the 1 or two that he likes are expensive. We finally got him some decent shoes that were on sale thank goodness. We also needed luggage for a trip that is coming up. So we start looking and I saw a nice one for $30. He started fussing at me because there was a lower quality one for about $10. Yet, he also needs fishing gear for his trip and he’s looking at spending $100 on a fishing reel and rod!! $100?! That’s crazy. Wal-Mart has plenty that would work just as well, for half that price. And for the amount of fishing that he’ll be doing, I don’t think it will kill him to get one that is $30-40. Why can’t he get it?

Tell Eric to look on e-bay for rods and reels. Brent got a lot of really good equipment for really good prices!!! That is one good thing about Brent—hehe. But yeah, men have no concept on what they really need versus what they think they must have.
