Puppy Scare
Wednesday, March 5th, 2003Our pup, Kody, gave me a scare yesterday. I got home and she was fussing. She has something in her mouth or something that she was desperately pawing at. She was eating like a crazy fog trying to get it out. She kept running to me and jumping up, like she was trying to tell me to help her. I felt so bad and was somewhat freaking cause I didn’t know what was going on.
I called the vet. They were closed. I paged the vet. He told me to talk to the emergency clinic and that it was probably a stick wedged in her teeth or something. I called the clinic and the girl explained what it could be and that if I could get her to hold still long enough I might could get it out. So when my husband got home, he held her down and I picked it out. It was wedged across the roof of her mouth. Like if she’d bit on the stick and both ends snapped making it get stuck. I felt so bad, but she was so happy when we got it out for her.
After the day I had…to come home to a dog that is clearly having problems, I was just freaking out.
Hopefully there won’t be too many problems with it. So far, so good. Let’s see what happens later on when my co-workers start using the new version.
