It’s hard to get back in the swing of things after being gone for a week. Today was pretty slow at work. Thank goodness it’s almost time to go!
I think I will watch Monday Night Football tonight. I am interested in seeing Spurier’s new team (Washington Redskins) play. I’ve also decided I’m going to start watching Charmed on The WB. I’ve seen a few of the episodes but they always came on on Thursdays and Friends won that fight. Now that it is on Sundays, I’m happy to say I can finally watch it.

Yesterday was a movie day…well it’s been a movie weekend actually. On Thursday I rented Holiday in the Sun with the Olsen twins. I watched it on Friday and it was cute. Then yesterday we saw two films in the theater: One Hour Photo with Robin Williams and The Road to Perdition with Tom Hanks. Both were excellent. One Hour Photo makes me glad I have a digital camera now. No going to the film processing center anymore.
The Road to Perdition was interesting. It was better than I expected it to be, thank goodness.
Then today we just got through watching Changing Lanes with Samuel L Jackson and Ben Affleck. It was pretty good also. I enjoyed all the movies I saw this weekend, but I am so “movied” out, if there is such a word!

I finished LA Woman last night. It was pretty good although there were some outrageous characters in it. I’m undecided as to what to read next. Lucky Man (auto-bio of MJFox) or a new one I picked up in Atlanta called Innocents. Well, in any case, I also finished The Hottest State by Ethan Hawke while in Atlanta this past week. I enjoyed it even though I read it somewhat disconnected. This happened when I read Shopgirl. I didn’t feel like I was there with the characters, but I did enjoy the story. Maybe it’s a certain style of writing that does that, who knows. Has that ever happened to anyone else?

I’m home from Comdex. It’s so great to be back home. After being away for a week, I was getting pretty homesick. I probably won’t be doing anything this weekend, except cuddling with my husband in front of the tv to watch football.
I’ve still got to get my photos up and running like I want and I’ve got quite a few from the trip to add, but I’ll get to them when I get to them. I just want to relax for a while.

9.11.2001
Today, I spend it remembering the events that took place 1 year ago. It tears my heart to see family and friends grieving once again for their lost loved ones. In our hotel, the fire alarm went off then we had a moment of silence at the time the first plane hit. Later today, there will be a ceremony of rememberance in the Olympic Park. We are all trying to go about our lives in normal fashion, yet all are wary of what could happen. I kept hearing of the airlines giving away free flights for today and thought, you can’t live in fear or worry of what could happen, but now that today is here, I know now that I would be wary of flying. I feel wary as it is being in the center of a large city.
Why anything would happen today, since the “bad guys” now we are all on alert, I don’t know. But I guess just knowing what today is makes it somewhat eerie. I will be glad when today is over and I can go home tomorrow. I will be very glad to see my husband and be in his arms again. I couldn’t even imagine what it must be like to know you’ll never see, hear or feel that person ever again. It must be so heart-wrenching, I don’t know how I would get past it. I pray that those living it can do a better job at dealing with it, than I ever could.
My heart goes out to everyone who lost a loved one on that fateful day one year ago.

Hey all! I’m at Comdex in Atlanta. It’s pretty neat here and I’m having a good time seeing all the techie stuff. I might even test drive a Mercedes convertible! I will be VERY glad to be home though. It’s kind of lonely here without my hubby.
I think I will be leaving early Thursday to get home. I’m very exhausted for some reason. I’ve taken quite a few pictures while here so maybe I’ll add some to the photo section of my site sometime in the next few weeks.
