Computer woes
I’ve had a hell of a weekend in the computer department. The SCSI drive I was going to use is bad…turns out it was in fact damaged by the lightning along with everything else in the machine. So I am back to one hard drive. I figured, no problem, instead of a triple boot I’ll do a dual with WinXP and RedHat or Mandrake Linux.
Well, I got WinXP loaded and everything works beautifully except the blasted Sound Blaster Live! sound card. Windows knows what it is and installed all the right drivers, but I get no sound. My MP3 player won’t even play my music, so it isn’t the speakers. I think winxp knows what I have but won’t communicate with it.
