Friday, June 28th, 2002Well, my family is here and I’m dog sitting the family pooch. She is the cutest thing and I miss her terribly whenever she isn’t around. I wish we could get a dog just like her, but I know that isn’t possible. Our current dog is a nightmare!
Tomorrow I have to go pick up my sister from a friend’s house. She is about 1-1 1/2 hours away so I get to drive my new truck! woohoo! I’ve only driven it to work and back so far, so it’ll be exciting.

going digital
Thursday, June 20th, 2002We are going digital! woohoo! The cable company is coming out Saturday morning to install digital cable for us. We’ll also get faster internet. And our internet is already high-speed! I’m so excited. We won’t ever have to go to the video store anymore. We get like 25-30 pay-per-view channels and about that many movie channels. We’ll be watching tv all the time now!
Now all I need is Tivo so I can record all that new stuff! Heehee!

Wednesday, June 19th, 2002I think the whole issue with the RIAA is so dumb. It’s totally a ploy to take all the money. They don’t want to share. They want to claim the music industry theirs and not the people’s of America.
First they all but destoyed Napster. Now they attack Audiogalaxy. All in a ploy to keep the money to themselves.
Movie Weekend
Tuesday, June 18th, 2002I had a movie marathon this weekend. On Friday night I watched Bridget Jones’ Diary and “O”. I loved Bridget. it was such a great movie. I found myself digging into my memory to see if I remembered what would happen next (I read the book, when it was first published.) Renee was great…so cute and how can you not like a movie starring Hugh Grant? “O” is a modern-day interpretation of Shakespeare’s Othello. Major players are Martin Sheen, Julia Stiles and Josh Hartnett. It wasn’t fabulous but it followed the main concept of the play. There was just something missing…maybe the shakespearean aura.
Sunday we watched Slingblade and Joy Ride. Slingblade stars Billy Bob Thornton and Dwight Yokam. If you didn’t know they were in the movie, you would never recognize them. They looked nothing like we are used to. Joy Ride was good. Definitely a thrill ride and will make you think twice about how you use a CB radio. I thought it was cool that the DVD had 4 alternate endings you could watch. And Paul Walker looked awesome!
Of the 4, my favorites were Joy Ride and Bridget.
Micro$oft
Thursday, June 13th, 2002Sometimes, lately more often than not, I really dislike Microsoft. I have not been having the best of luck with their development products at work. My computer is acting up so badly, this is the 2nd time in 3 weeks that I have to reformat…and that’s only because I went out of town on business so I wasn’t here to do it sooner…
Visual Basic can be such a pain. I am having problems with my Windows Common Control, for you programming techies. I think my control is corrupted. First, my problem was that when I run my program in debug, I have to use the right mouse button in my treeview. Left click didn’t do anything. So I fixed the control…upgraded it (vb screwed up the versions/dates on this thing) and it fixed that problem.
Atlanta Here I Come
Friday, June 7th, 2002I’ll be going to Atlanta on Sunday! I’m attending a 2 day training session on Peachtree Accounting Software for work. I will miss my husband, but I’ll have my laptop and camera. I hope I get a few pictures while I’m there. I’ll be back on Tuesday night so maybe sometime during the week, if I have any decent pics I’ll post them.
I’ve got a ton of pics from our trip to Las Vegas that haven’t been developed yet either…and we went last August! I hope to get them done next weekend, and if there are any good ones I’ll scan them in. I should probably go through my stack from our honeymoon in Sedona, AZ and scan in any worthy ones to add to the log as well. I didn’t get my digital camera till after our trip to Vegas, so I haven’t been on any trips with the digicam yet.
I need to go get my laptop ready for my trip to Atlanta so I’m outta here for a while. Everyone have a great weekend!
the new car of the future?
Wednesday, June 5th, 2002Volkswagen has come up with a new 1 litre car.
For those slow folk in the US, like me, who don’t understand this concept…it means the fuel tank is only 1.7 gallons, but…it can go about 235 miles on a gallon. With one fill up of about $2.00 in gasoline, you can go about 403 miles! Imagine that.
Wouldn’t that be great! What money we’d save on gas….especially those who travel long distances every day to work and spend most of your paycheck getting you there and back.
Of course it does have it’s drawbacks…the fastest it will go is about 75 mph, which isn’t fast. Forget trying to go 85 on the interstate.
It has it’s pros and cons, but it sure does look pretty neat, don’t it?
