The Dentist

Wednesday, April 10th, 2002

I want to know what all the fuss is about going to the dentist. So many people “fear” the dentist with a passion. I just don’t get it. To me going to the dentist is just like going to any other doctor. They poke and prod and you may be sore afterwards, but it fades and you feel better. End of story. Can someone explain what the big deal is, please.

What You Wish For

Sunday, April 7th, 2002

I’m reading this book, What You Wish for, by Fern Michaels. It is about a woman who finally leaves her abusive husband and is starting over, in hopes of leaving her old life for good. Of course it is never that easy and her old life begins to make trouble for her new one. I’ve only just started reading it, but it is so sad to read about the abuse these husbands are giving their wives. It breaks my heart. I’ve been fortunate enough to have found a wonderful husband who would never dream of abusing me in any way. I hope all those women out there who are victims of domestic abuse, find the courage to seek help and remove themselves from that situation before it’s too late. I pray for you every day.

As someone who works for a Victims Compensation agency, I see many cases come through our office. It’s heart-breaking to know so many people out there can be so heartless to do something so awful to another person. We do our best to help those in need, but there are so many out there who are still suffering. Please get help, if you are suffering from spousal abuse. It isn’t your falult and there is something that can be done. But you are the one that needs to do it, you are the one that needs to find the strength and courage to take that first step.

Travis Tritt

Saturday, April 6th, 2002

Yesterday on my way home from work, I happened to glance in the direction of a hardware store. I got just a quick glance as I drove by, nut I could’ve sworn that the man I saw walk into the store looked exactly like Travis Tritt. I was like “Holy Cow, that man looked just like him!” It was really freaky. (Note: For those who don’t know who that is, he is a well-known and very popular country singer.)

Ok, everyone that I’ve talked to says they love the layout and design so I think I’ll stick with it for a while. No messing it up! Just adding some new stuff. More info about me in a new page, most likely and maybe a page with some photos I’ve taken with my Nikon Coolpix 775 digital camera. if you like the layout and design, I can’t take the credit. B8 Graphics did it so let them know it’s cool.

I’ll also keep working on the daisy site.

Dreamweaver

Wednesday, April 3rd, 2002

Ok. I’ve gone through the tutorial for Dreamweaver. Now that I’ve become somewhat familiar with it, it’s time to try it out on my own site. Play around with some of it’s features. Of course, the hubby is working on a site for S.W.E.A.T. and I’ve been “volunteered” to develop part of it. I get to do the scripting to save membership info in a database. Since he doesn’t know any of that, he wants me to do it. Of course he has built this site in Dreamweaver, so I get to practice by helping him with that site. We’ll see. hopefully I won’t totally screw it up!

Dreamweaver vs FrontPage

Tuesday, April 2nd, 2002

I think I’ve decided to try to redo the site using Dreamweaver. I’ve never used it before but since so many people swear by it…I figured I’d learn it…that is if I want to be a well-rounded web developer. Once I figure it out, I can move onto UltraDev. So this weekend and maybe some during the week, I’ll be attempting to learn and use Dreamweaver. And hey, if it gets me away from FrontPage, great. Like a total ungeek, I’m going through the tutorial to get familiar with all that it has to offer. Then I will delve into it for my own stuff. I think I’ll start out small with this site, then move to my other, larger site, raynecountry. Wish me luck! If anyone wants to shed some words of advice/wisdom on using DW, please feel free.
