Pressure washing just gets old. It was fun for a little while but now it has become somewhat boring…haha. What do I mean? Well, we just moved into a new house and the back porch had this nasty carpet thing on it, so we pealed it up but there was of course glue stuff underneath. So we had to pressure wash it to take all that glue off. Well, last weekend it was fun…I felt like I was painting, sort of. This week we are almost done and it has gotten old. Maybe cause all that is left is the areas that are harder to get up. Oh well, almost done anyway.
Saturday has come and gone and Sunday is slowing slipping by. Boo
Tomorrow it’s back to the grind and back to work. I look forward to a nice long vacation where I can relax and do nothing! Lately it seems that whether I’m at work or at home, there is something going on that needs to be done. I guess that is what happens when you buy a house…there’s always something to be done…forever and ever! AAHHH!! The X-files are counting down the end. After such a long time, it will finally be over soon. It was such a good show. Then David Duchovny left. It just wasn’t the same without Fox Moulder! But he’ll be back…I will enjoy seeing him return for the series finale on May 19. I think it will be worth the wait.

Linux is a pretty neat OS. I’ve finally gotten it installed on my computer and have played around a little. There are a few glitches that I need to work out and a LOT of things I need to figure out. I’m using RedHat 7.2 and I think I prefer the KDE Desktop to GNOME. I’m probably going to download Opera or Netscape 6 as my main browser, although I do like Konquerer. I’ve only used a few times so far, I only got it installed last night so I haven’t had that much time yet to do much, but it is so cool. It’s sad that we depend so heavily on Windows. Linux is great but many of my files require Windows. Yeah, I can convert some, but some it isn’t worth it or beneficial to me to convert. And it makes it difficult if I want to port files from home and work where we use W2K. I’m testing it out…not sure if I want to totally convert at the moment, but I’m having fun playing!

I’ve discovered a new program…well, it’s not new and many of you will probably say “what an idiot” but actually I am. I am total dunce when it comes to graphic design. I guess I’m just not too creative. So now I’ve discovered Adobe Photoshop. Of course I’ve heard about it and knew that many people use it everyday for their graphic design, but I just starting playing around with it. WOW! I love it! It does so many neat things. and for some reason, I find it easier to use than Paint Shop Pro. I’ve tried several times to figure out that program to no avail. I’ve playing with Photoshop for 2 days and am thinking it isn’t so bad, or as daunting as I imagined it would be.
So now you ask, why the sudden revelation? Well, being a long time MS Image Composer user, I was horrified to find that after I installed MS Office XP, my Clip Art Gallery was no longer accessible. This is because I think it isn’t compatible with the old programs. So there went my image editor. I had to come up with a new tool and PSP was not an option. So lo and behold I decided to give PS a try! I’m glad I did. I had so much difficulties making round edges in IC, PS makes it so easy! I may become a full convert before it’s all over. So now, I have ideas to try to create a new design for this site…we’ll see how that goes. I’m just starting out. The future will tell if I can truly master PS or not.

Am very sleepy. I think I drank too much wine…not drunk just tired! Today was semi productive. The husband cleaned out the garage. I did not much. I tried to install linux on my computer without much luck, so I will probably be starting from scratch again.
oh well. so much for that.
Watched yesterday’s episode of Days of Our Lives. Great show…and it gets better every day…at least right now it is. I am getting tired of Jack’s antics though, he needs to quit making such a fool of himself in front of Jennifer if he wants to win her back. And poor Greta, she is so gullible, she falls for all of it. Since she is leaving the show, I hope it has something to do with Eric. Granted when she finds out Jack is lying about being gay, that will piss her off, but it would be cool if she left to go visit Eric. And I think Shawn is making a terrible mistake claiming Jan’s baby as his own. Stupid since everyone knows he’s hiding something and there is more going on that his lame story.
And, maybe I’m the only one but, I think that a romance between Nicole and Austin would be great. They have the same background and have both worked hard to be where they are. Of course a triangle between them and Brady would be even better. They personalities of Brady and Nicole would clash perfectly to build the sexual tension. And the common background of Austin and Nicole naturally draws them together.
Ok, enough spiel (sp?) for one night. I need some sleep. It’s been a rough computer day!

Well, payday is here so my paycheck has come and gone with all the bills! But that’s the way it goes.
Oh well, as long as I have some extra for fun. I watched Angel Eyes a few nights ago. I’m not a big fan of Jennifer Lopez, but I have to say she is a good actress. I think she did an excellent job in this movie, but I was expecting something different. The previews all made this movie seem like it was a big mystery story that something bad was going to happen, so when I sat down and watched a romance, I was a little thrown. It was a good movie, just not what I was expecting.

Last night I watched Crazy/Beautiful with Kirsten Dunst and Jay Hernandez. It is about two teenagers, a studious latin boy and a wild-child, white girl who meet and fall in love. It was slow to start out and I had a difficult time getting into the movie. It wasn’t one that grabbed my attention from the beginning, but it was a pretty good movie. Kirsten’s acting was great. She definitely portrayed the different sides of her character, Nicole, wonderfully. She had me crying during an emotional conversation with her father. It was a heartwarming film, but definitely a chick-flick.

I’ve finally gotten the site to look presentable and to actually work right. It took all weekend, but this is it. Thank goodness! I was about to pull my hair out yesterday because it wasn’t working right, then of course as I was falling asleep last night, I figured out what the problem was. so it is working properly this morning.
What did I do over the weekend, besides work on this site? Let’s see…the usual, laundry and cleaned up the house some. Last night we watched The One with Jet Li. It was pretty good. Reminded me of a cross between The Matrix and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. All the slow motion effects dodging bullets, plus the miraculous leaps and flights. It was a pretty good story. A super multi-dimension universe. One man seeks to aquire all the power and be The One. so he crosses dimensions killing ‘himself’. With each one dead, the power gets redivided among the rest of. Of course it gets down to two of them and the power is equally divided. So the battle begins to see which one will be The One. If you like those fighting type movies with extra effects, then this is one to watch.

Today we cleaned. Yes we actually cleaned and we are officially out of the apartment. We turned in the keys and all. It felt great. We no longer have to go back to the dreaded apartment. We can just concentrate on organizing and fixing up our house. We got our tax money too, so off to home depot we go again. I feel like it has become my new favorite store…it’s actually a great place to shop, if you are into home improvment that is. It seems no matter what you need, they will most likely have it. we start looking around and think, “oh, we need to get this to fix that. I know, we’ll go to home depot. they’ll have it. Guarenteed!” and what do you know. You get there and voila! they have it.
When I was younger, I used to hate being dragged to home depot with my parents. the only thing I liked about that store was the coke machine and the wood carts I could ride around in.
Well, all grown up with a house of my own, I understand the need to frequent this great store…and off we are to home depot again…

this will be my new site. as time goes by i will be adding more and more information. mostly it will be my discussion junction. i can talk about whatever is on my mind. at some point i may add my web soap, thurston hills. this soap has approximately 11 episodes written. i need to get back to it at some point soon to revise and continue the stories. i do like th and i feel a personal connection to my characters. i always wanted to write something productive so here it is. th may debut at some point, but…i’m currently working on my other site: raynecountry. it has a little over 1000 country songs, old and new. with the great search feature you should have no problems finding what you need, if it is in the database. with all the copyright issues going on, i don’t know how long the site will last. i hope to keep it going as long as possible. it’s currently been running since march of 1999 and has gone through so many design changes! i can just never decide on a layout, but i’m so busy lately that the current design will probably stay for a while. my husband and i just purchased our first home, woohoo! so we are very busy trying to get everything organized. i still have to clean out our old apartment but our house is a wreck of course. i hope to start updating my lyrics site again soon…i have tons of songs to add, just not as much time as i’d like. maybe i’ll take a few hours this weekend to add a few.
